My favorite of the various parcel selections from this outstanding estate was the 2016 Pic Saint Loup Clos du Pic, a Syrah-Mourvèdre blend. It reveals classy aromas of baking spices, crushed stone and violets, backing those up with flavors of raspberries, strawberries and plums. It's full-bodied but complex, with a long finish framed by fine-grained tannins.
