Clos du Mont-Olivet Châteauneuf-du-Pâpe Rouge Cuvée du Papet 2018

A blend of 60% Grenache and 20% each Cinsault and Syrah, aged almost entirely in foudres, the 2018 Lirac is a solid effort. Peppery, herbal and lifted on the nose, it eases into red raspberry and stone fruit on the medium to full-bodied palate. It's firmly tannic—even chewy—on the finish, so give it a couple of years to soften, then drink it over the next five years or so.
